For other people that is.. I despise having to go in and follow the rules of what someone else has made up for me... My friends tease me and call me a rebel.. Well, I can't help it... I sing off key sometimes just because... I understand rules are set to keep cohesion but I also think that they are set for control as well and sometimes, that's not so good of a thing. I am extremely free spirited and definitely dance to the beat of my own drum. I joke and say that if I lived back in the 60s,I would have TOTALLY been a Black Panther... or at least Rosa Parks! ha! Not because of the whole black vs white thing but because they didn't conform to what the "norm" was, they decided to set their OWN rules. And who is this "rule setter", anyway?! Who told him that his rules or way of living were for EVERYONE to follow? Did he just wake up one day and crown himself, King of the Land and therefore rule setter?? *shrug* I just believe in letting people be free to be who they really are and allowing them to shine through that. But I do know that there has to be order in life and that's why rules and laws are set forth, so that there wont be mass chaos. So if you're going to have rules, at least allow me to follow them in the manner that I want! lol! Or maybe not............................

Love Campaign
So, as those of you who know me personally, know that I'm full of personality and I'm a big lover of people (when my mood is right, of course *wink*)... I strive on the cohesion and "kumba yah"ness of people. My life motto is "Can't we all just get along long enough to heal the world"..... Ok, well maybe it's not, but if I had a life motto, that would be sooo close. LOL! SO with that being said, it troubles me and boggles my mind how there are some people out here in this world (not alot, like only 3.. LOL) who don't like me. Not to sound vain but if you really knew me, you would know that yes, while I am moody and at times a bit bossy, I have a heart the size of Jupiter (if it even still exists) and I am really sensitive and try to please and appease others at all costs. I'm not a mean spirited person but I am often times misunderstood and misjudged.... So it troubles me when I receive a bad vibe from a person because chances are, that person is basing their opinion of me on speculation and not fact. Most people tell me I need to toughen up because this world doesn't take too kindly to caring, sensitive people like myself... *gasp* What sense does that make? So you mean to tell me that evil should prevail over love and kindness??!! Why should I sacrifice who I am and my integrity for them!? (these 3 people; who are NOT on my Christmas list this year btw!!) In other words, bring myself down to their level... Well I say SCREW THAT!!!! They need to step UP to my level! Learn to love!!! Kill them with kindness and tenderness!! I will not TOUGHEN up!!! I am going to start my Love Campaign and every person that I see that needs love, I'm not going to "toughen up" just to deal with them, I'm going to "love 'em up"! That's what's wrong with this world, we think that the only way to fight in a battle is with our fists and harsh demeanor.... Tsk Tsk Tsk, have we no broader intelligence than that??!!

Money Smarts
Hi guys!!! Its been a few weeks since I last updated you all of my progress... Been trying to get all of my New York things arranged for me to be good money for my move next summer to Cali!!! Which I'm super excited about! Speaking of "money", being in one of the most expensive cities in this country and moving to another just as expensive one, its really got me thinking.... As many of you who know me personally, know that ever since I left the military in 07, I've been struggling financially.. Yes, a lot of it is due to this crazy economy but the MAJORITY of it was due to irresponsible and irrational decisions on my part and I am now faced with the results of those. And embarking on such an uncertain career as acting/writing, finances are even more rigid... I have learned A LOT in these almost 4 yrs since I've been out and have come a very long way... So I wanted to share some words of wisdom from my experiences and what I've learned from them. So please take a few moments check out my suggestions, especially, if you are pursuing a career in ANY kind of entrepreneurial venture... I call these, Tiera Nicole's Money Smart Moves
1. DO NOT pay a past debt by creating new debt. There will ALWAYS be a common denominator- DEBT
2. DO pay yourself before paying someone else. Set aside money every paycheck to put in savings. Make yourself a creditor/bill collector.
3. DO NOT think that just because you have the money in your bank account, that you can afford it!
4. DO write out a monthly, quarterly, and half year budget so that you can stay on track of how much you have coming in and going out.
5. DO set aside money in your budget for shopping, miscellaneous things, and emergency funds.
6. DO NOT use credit for anything except a car and house!! I repeat, DO NOT finance, get a loan, or use credit for anything that you can save up for and buy with cash unless its a car or a house.
7. If you MUST absolutely can NOT do without, use credit, get a loan, or finance something, make sure it is for an EMERGENCY!!! Something that u absolutely NEED (ie your car has broken down and you live in a non mass transit area)or that you will be able to pay off in 27-30 days.
8.DO pay your bills a few days before they're due to ensure that they are received on time because some creditors will charge you a late fee for not having your payment in after a certain time on the same DAY that your bill is due.
9. DO try and pay a little more than what's due each month, even an extra $5 a month makes a difference and then IF you EVER needed to take a break from a payment later, you have enough to hold you over. (Be sure to check with your creditor/debtor on their payment break policies because some do not allow a break in payment if there is still a balance on the account.
10. And last but certainly not least, DO NOT live above or even AT your means!!! The reason rich and wealthy people stay wealthy is because they live waaaayy below their means. They aren't out blowing every fund they have on the latest named brand things. A lot of them wear hand me down or old clothing or shop at discount stores. A lot of them only splurge when there is a big event. Don't pay attention to what these rappers and pop singers are doing, they are "new" rich! Temporary situations. Watch the little old lady from the upper east side! Yes, she may live in a 250 million dollar apt, but she takes the cab everywhere or the man who has two houses in the hamptons but he's wearing the same shoes from 2000!!! If you are making 2000 a month, AT LEAST 500 should be going into savings!
Its about sacrificing! We fuss, moan and cry about constantly being broke but we constantly make broke decisions! We have to be smarter and care more about not only our future well being but our children's. When God calls us home, the last thing you want to leave ur grieving family with is YOUR IRRESPONSIBILITIES... We should be about leaving our children and this world with a legacy, something that they will remember you by.... What legacy would you be leaving if you were to pass today? That you cared and lived to make better opportunities for those you loved or that you were too selfish and impulsive to care about the problems that you would be leaving behind?
I hope that this was of help to someone and that you all will go into this new year with a renewed mind and even newer bank accounts!!!! I know I am!!! Will you join me???

Operation LA
Just wanted to keep you all abreast of the progress of me as an artist and my production company... This past weekend I travelled to Atlanta to meet with my business partner and a few of his "people" and we discussed the future of my company and my two projects (the talk show and reality show, just in case you've been living under a rock... lol)... We have decided that for the betterment of me as an actress/writer and aspiring director/producer, for me to pack up and head to the land of The Angels BKA Los Angeles!! After further thought and prayer, I have decided that my time in NY is up and that it would be best for my advancement to venture to the other side of the globe... SO to put it simply, LA HERE I COOOOMMMMMEEEEEEE!! I'm super excited about this move, I think even more so than my move to NY because I know that I have tangible opportunities out there and not that I'm just going out there on a hope and prayer... We will be looking to shoot the two teasers out there and utilize the resources that my partner has out there once I'm there and settled.
My projection move date is Dec 30, 2010... So I'm about to work like a Jamaican (No offense, love my Jamaicans!!!) for the next 2.5 months to save up my money... If that date doesn't work out, I will project August 1, 2011. But I'm REALLY pushing for Dec!!!
So guys, please keep me and all my ventures in your prayers as I transition on to this next phase of my career; actual WORK!!! HA!

Love Is..........
I posted a question on fb and twitter about whether its possible to love sight unseen... Falling for someone you've never physically met.. And of course the human in us responded automatically with a loud HELL NO!!! But then I post my next comment, "Well how is it that we proclaim to love God, whom we've never set physical eyes on?" And the room falls silent... Lol.... We have "humanized" love to be more about our eyes than our heart. If love is about the heart and mind, being able to see and touch a person should not determine whether love should exist... Neither should time... If you are a true believer in God and surrender yourself to His will, you understand that He works on His time not ours. So who's to say that you couldn't fall in love, truly in love, with someone within a few encounters with them?
Love is the only perfect thing that exists in this world... To have and know true love is to have and know God. Because God is a peculiar being, so is love. I don't believe in putting rules, expectations,or limitations on who a person or how a person loves. Our society has become so materialistic and all about what they can see that I fear that people don't even know what true love feels like. We must get back to the way love used to be. To when butterflies existed in our stomachs at the thought of it. To when our faces hurt from the smiles it brought to our faces.... Gotta get back to the innocence of love... Back to the sacredness of it... Back to the security it brought to our souls.... If we individually would go back to when that puppy love existed and how much money you had or how many people knew your name didn't matter. Parents always shun their children and tell them "you don't know anything about love!". But children love the best because they are honest and give in to their feelings. They fall "in love" based on their feelings; based on the pureness of how it makes them feel. And that, my fellow readers, is what love is all about, giving into the pureness of what your heart, soul, and mind is saying and letting your body follow NOT LEAD!
I know this was a sappy message but as you all know, I am an encourager and I encourage and challenge you all to watch a child and watch how they show love, for that will probably be as close to God's love as you will ever physically see. We must continue to strive to be more God like everyday and it first must start with LOVE!

Clearer Skies Ahead
Hello all,
It has been a few weeks since I last posted something on here. Life has been pretty hectic for me. As most of you know, I have post poned the show until further notice and have started a You Tube channel in the meantime... Well, so far so good with the channel. I have been getting good feedback from people and have started alittle following from that. You can check it out @ www.youtube.com/tieranicoletv, you can catch a sneek peak of the videos in my last two posts below.. Yes, you're in for a treat as you guys no longer have to sit through reading my long drawn out blogs but can see my crazy animated self in action!!! ha!!!
I also was supposed to shoot a calendar that was going to be used to help promote the show and to help put my face out there for the public to see. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find the right photographer for the project. The few that I have encountered have been good in their own right but Im looking for someone who embodies professionalism as well as skill and reliability... And right now with the budget being as limited as it is, thats hard to find... So if any of you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it as I still plan to tour the calendar around to major cities (NY, Baltimore/DC, ATL, Chicago, and LA)..
I will say that I truly am loving the support and love from all of you reading this. Although small, my followers hold me down and make all this worth while.. Theres nothing like having someone send me a message asking me when's the next video going to be up or when's the next blog going to be posted... I love love love you all and Im glad you all are believing in me enough to take this crazy journey with me as you guys are witnessing along with me the ups and downs and roller coasters of breaking into this business.. As you guys see one moment Im blasting about how GREAT things are and the next post Im doing a complete 180... But thats the way it works and I just pray that you all stick in there with me cause when its all said and done, we're all going to come out on top together!!!!
So while things may be a bit gloomy and not going according to my immediate plan of attack, God has blessed me with yet again, another day to try again.... HE promised me Clearer skies ahead, just as long as you continue to look up and forward.... So please everyone, keep me in your prayers and we all will reap the fruits of our labor soon enough.......

Its a Beautiful Thing
So within a 24 hour period, I've obtained a manager and received an offer to take my calendar on a national promotional tour!!! WOW!!! This is a HUGE look for me and my show as well as my company and all hands involved... I am truly blessed and am excited to take a load off myself and give it to my manager!! Lol! But knowing me, I'll still be grinding it out cause I'm a workaholic... But I'm just blessed to finally have someone working for me... I will def keep u all posted on the progress of that relationship....

T-I-R-E-D
Whoever said that owning your own company was going to be easy, obviously didn't own their own company!!! Lol... I am enjoying the opportunities that God is placing before me but it is very very time consuming and a tad stressful... I have three projects going at the same time, organizing the show, organizing the calendar shoot for the show, AND co writing a feature length movie.... I am the talent, director, producer, writer, creator, publicist, secretary, YOU NAME IT!!!! I see that you have to be extremely organized or you will get worn or burnt out..... Things are coming along very well though, with a few glitches here and there but all in all things are being placed in front of me according to God's plan.... As I said, I have my calendar shoot in two weeks that I will be using to promote the show, Love Sex & Baggage, and that in and of itself is an entire production. From trying to get a whole team of people together to picking looks, to locations, down to coordinating eating time; you take for granted as the talent portion of a project the amount of work that goes into a production... As the talent, all you do is show up and smile!!! But I am proud of the progress I have made with my company so far and understand and accept the stress that inevitably comes along with it.. I'm also still trying to coordinate the talent for the show as well as script/outline the segment flow as well as get the intro shot AND the field segment shot, all within two weeks!!! Insane???? Yes I know but this is what I live for.. Sleepless nights and hustling days... So if you are looking to get into this business, even just as a talent, you have to be willing to make certain sacrifices initially to get you to where you need to be.... I know my thoughts seem scrambled as my brain is worn but I just wanted to update you all on the happenings of my current situation.... If you don't hear from me in a while, its not cause I've ran off to Zimunda, if I even spelled that right, its just cause I'm crazy stupid busy.... But nontheless, I love you guys and appreciate all the support from you...

Relationship Guest- Must be 18 yrs or older. Must reside in the NJ/NY/CT area or be willing to travel to NY. Can be a specialist, business owner, product seller, etc that specializes in services/products/business geared toward men and women and the betterment of their intimate relationships (ex. a masseuse, sex/relationship therapist, personal trainer, sex toy seller, author of love novels, etc). Also have the opportunity to bring exposure to your business.
Wardrobe Stylist- Must reside in the NJ/NY/CT area, no exceptions as this person will be working with me on numerous projects, not just this show. Has to provide a portfolio and/or references of past work. Budget is limited presently so we will discuss rates during interview process.

Things are moving right along
Morning guys, I am up bright and early on a Tuesday morning ready to get this next portion of my life started. There are some very exciting things coming up for me and Im ready to tackle them head on!
First thing is my biggest news, I have teamed up with the very talented and dynamic underground hip hop group, Bodat Ink, hailing from Irvington, NJ. I will be hitting the clubs with these two to do promotions for my show and to help build my fan base as well as I will be working with them on other projects. So please be on the look out for more info on where you can come check us out. They are also one of my followers, so please please check out their music and follow them, http://bodatink.net... If you are a Lupe Fiasco/Outkast/Common fan, this group will definitely be up your alley and ladies, they are very lovely to look at too, so that helps!! HA! They are performing Sept 3, at the Cavalier Ballroom in Roselle, NJ and their album release party is Oct 1 at the same location.
Other news is that I got a job!! Finally!!! Getting a serving job in New York is like trying to become the next movie star, wayyyyyyy more difficult and competitive than I ever thought... Geesh!! But the most ironic thing is that within one day, I went from being jobless to having THREE jobs!!! So I have become a commodity to NY!! Or at least I like to think so... But needless to say, Im not going to take all three... Also, I have met up with a filmmaker in the Baltimore area that I would like to work with on my future short film projects and a possible reality show. Trust me guys, I am about to be doing really big things so buckle your seat belts because I am definitely jumping on the fast rack..... Ok ok that was kind of corny, I know... hehehehehehehehe

Healing shall set u free!!
SO as some of you already know, I had a little surgical procedure on Thursday... Not to get too personal but I am experiencing a bit of a cancer "scare" and have been dealing with this since about sixteen and have been through many many doctors, specialists, and surgeries and yet things havent gotten better BUT they also haven't gotten worse either so I am thankful and blessed for that. I struggled with whether or not I would make this public info but sitting here on bed rest, has got me thinking (cause that's about the only thing you can do laying in the bed all day). I truly believe that EVERYTHING happens for a reason and God reaches out to you in different ways.... I am about to be placed in a position of elevation, of leadership. Lord willing, I will form a huge following and fan base; to whom I will be responsible for. So I am reaching out to you all to encourage you to persevere. No matter what is thrown your way, you gotta keep pushing, tooth and nail, forward. I have been through alot in my short time on this earth but I realize that God has alot in store for me and that these trials are only character builders to prepare me for the greatness that I am about to face... So through my troubles, heart aches, and pain, I am like a caterpillar forming into a butterfly.. Not all caterpillars make it to the butterfly stage of life... Its the very few who were able to find that safe haven, endure the winter, and push through to the sunlight that get to spread their wings and use themselves for their intended purpose...
So as I lay here in bed restless, I know that as I physically heal, there is another healing going on much deeper. Whats bigger, your heart or your mouth?
So here I am again tonight, guess I got a lot on my mind huh? Lol... I always knew growing up that I was raised differently and that God created me differently. My mother always told me that I would have a hard time in this world because I have a huge heart and I care about EVERYONE.. And I would find struggle in the fact that the majority of those "everyone"s, would not care for me back.... I know this and realize it but still can't wrap my head around why... Why is it that people open their mouths endlessly with a bunch of nonsense? Why is it that people only do things for you because they want or even EXPECT something in return? Why is it that people say things to you that they think sounds good but NEVER backs it up with any action and continue to keep delivering the same nonsense like you're not smart enough to catch on.... Well hopefully you are... You know what they say the definition of insanity is, right? Doing the same things over and over and expecting a different result...
It boggles my mind how some people, A LOT of people, walk around just spitting nonsense out of their mouths cause it sounds good. Not really truly meaning what they say to people and not truly caring who they hurt in the interim. Are you one of those people? Who thinks with ur mouth instead of your heart or even your head? In relationships, whether they be intimate, platonic, or even business, I truly believe that if you let your mouth lead and not your heart/head, ull find that it'll come full circle and you'll be biting urself in the a** in the long run....
I know this is kind of all over the place with random thoughts but I'm just venting today which I know is out of the ordinary for my blog posts but I truly want you all to get to know me and experience my struggles and victories with me.
I'm posting these as mirrors of revelation. Shining a light on possible faults and hopefully allowing change into ur life. We can't continue to let our mouths run our lives.. It just isn't right. We have to be bigger than that. We can't be afraid to stand out from the crowd and actually care for your fellow man or woman. Stop being so selfish people, cause selfish people are some of the most lonely people in the world... What's a world without others? So let's take care of one another, cause if everyone cares about the next, no one is left out... It comes full circle....
So please folks, let's start loving each other, truly loving each other the way its intended... And let's save all this lip service for kissing cause I really don't want to hear it anymore... I need to see doing from now on... So let's DO love and not speak it cause my heart is bigger than my mouth could ever explain....

Is a penis really necessary in this business??!!!
Although I am very new to this business, I am learning alot about how it functions already. In everything you do in life, there will be some obstacles and setbacks, unfortunately some will experience these even before they get started. What do I mean specifically? Having a vagina!!!!!! Seriously!! and having that vagina be attached to a nice body, which is then attached to a pretty face!! I'm starting to see that when you reach out to other business people (who are mostly men) they kind of brush you and your ideas off as trivial.. And I am not the one to immediately be anti ANYONE but I'm starting to see a pattern... Ive reached out to many people that I know who are in my line of work (keyword, people I "KNOW") just to have them not return phone calls, text messages, emails,or be reluctant to set up meetings; but as soon as I incorporated a male's voice in my project, these same people started talking and listening to me more... WTH??!!! Its the same d*mn concept!!!!! I don't want to have to rely on a man for MY IDEA to get out there and I d*mn sure don't want to depend on sex appeal to get it out there either... When will our society wake up?! Women have been the creators and innovators of many many things but have chosen to take the back seat to allow the man time to shine.. And as soon as he does, he gives thanx to himself... I'm sure Donald Trump's wife had alot to do with his success.. I'm sure he went home at night frustrated about how business was going and she told him it would b alright honey and suggested a new alternative... I'm sure through his wife's/mother's/sister's encouragements, Bill Gates was able to build a trillion dollar company.... Even Einstein had a little lady on his side giving him that extra push!!!
My point is, respect my gangsta!! Respect my grind... Not every woman defines her existence by what her man or any man for that matter creates .. Some of us want to create our own opportunities so that our children can believe that we too are capable of being superheroes without our boobs hanging out.... Again,this isn't a feminist blog, its not to put men down but for them to open up their minds. Open up to the fact that we can do whatever they can, sometimes BETTER but no matter what, for them to be there for us; for them to believe in us, in our power; for them to support us; JUST AS WE DO THEM!!That we are more than tits and a**... That we're good for more than great blowjobs... That we could run countries if allowed to....
I am not perfect but I am really trying to build an empire here. One that gives opportunities for anyone who's willing to work for it, no matter your race, religion, or GENDER..... I don't believe in burning bridges, especially ones you have yet to cross, because you never know when that bridge will be your last one... This is mainly true for my associates that I know who consider themselves already "MADE" in this business and feel that they can't benefit from lending a helping hand or even just an ear to a hard working, woman who just so happens to be attractive. But you better believe if I were offering sex, my phone would be ringng off of the hook..... SMH.... When some people have "arrived", they forget all about the person(s) on the come up.. They forget that they once were in these very shoes and wanted their voice or ideas to be heard.... Lord I pray I dont become that way. I pray that in all I do, I continue to reach back because no matter how high you elevate, you'll never be the MOST HIGH, and HE gives back to ALLLLLLL EVERYDAY!!!! He's even giving back to you now as you read this blog.....
I don't mean to rant and rave on but I want to encourage all, espeially women who are trying to start your own business (in any field) to keep pushing on; and to let the "nah-sayers" and haters truly be your motivation everyday to keep fighting for your goal. Because the minute you stop, you've proven them right.........

NY weirdos!!
So, in my short time of living here, I have truly discovered the essence of what being a New Yorker is... Hustling, bustling, and grinding all day long... I love the fast paceness of it... Wouldn't have it any other way... But there is one thing about New York that mankes it even more unique.. All of the crazy weirdos that reside here!!! I don't understand it.. I mean, there must be a crazy person convention or something and they all rally together and vote that NY is the best place to lay your head if you're mentally "off".. In no way shape or form am I trying to be rude or disrespectful, I am simply making a very clear observation...
Here are some examples of what I'm refering to so that we're all on the same page:
1. There was a man sitting on the train stuffing a maxi pad with cigarettes
2. There was a man talking to himself. Now granted, this isn't unusual to see but he seemed to have been having a very normal conversation. He would mumble something, wait as if he were listening to a response and then react to the response. His conversation ranged from happy to frustrating....
3. A man begging for money, saying he was homeless and that he had just gotten out of jail but yet had on BRAND new sneakers and jewelry that was blinding me.
4. A lady was talking to her friend and kept nodding off in the middle of her conversation. The crazy thing was the friend never reacted! She just waited until the lady came to and continued her convo.
5. A man in PENN station putting on a musical performance with no music and had a microphone that was not plugged into anything, and was JAMMING!!
As I said, these are all just a few examples of the crazies that live in this lovely city... Hahahhahahahahhahahahaha

So anyway....
I got this new serving job at the airport and they've got me going through training now.. I'm so tired of training all the time. Seems everytime I turn around, I'm training for something but still seemed to have not mastered a d*mn thing!! What's with that? I'm on my way to a modeling workshop, "How to Make it as a model".. Word of advice, a lot of these things are a waste of money and time but if you can catch a free seminar/workshop (like this one is) I say why not?! Although most of them end up telling you the same info, you get to meet new people and NETWORK! Which is the name of the game in this business.. If no one knows you exist, you will fail! Point blank, period.... You have to put yourself out there for exposure... So I will blog what they share with me so that I can pass my knowledge on to you all...
By the way, its super duper hot outside and I'm sitting here waiting for the bus (in NY public trans is essential and neccesary) and I'm baking... So make sure u guys put on sunscreen so u don't burn!!! Lol just my little motherly advice for the day.... :)

WOW!!!! Where has the time gone??!!
Well well well... I know its been a minute or two or 1000 but Ive had a really busy year so far and things have just started to heat up. So the last time I spoke with you, I was telling you of my projected move to NY... Well I assure you that it happened and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I attended a theatre conservatory (American Academy of Dramatic Arts) and learned alot about myself as a woman and as an actress... Invaluable!!! I actually have not done many acting gigs just due to the amount of time that school took up, but now that school is done, I have hit the ground runnnnniiiiinnngg! My first project- I have created and will host a talk show called "Love Sex & Baggage". It premiers on Sept 13 @ 1030pm at www.zedalza.net. I am SUPER SUPER excited about this show and where it can potentially take me and my career. It is my baby, my creation, and will be my blood sweat and trears and I hope you all are along for the ride. I promise to try and stay on top on blogging, especially now that Im doing the show, I should have tons of material to blog about...
